New card!

Well, I'm finally posting a new card! Wahoo! I went to my local craft store today to see what I could find. I found lots of yummy paper that I needed to put in my stash. :) My goal is to use it up though and not let it sit. We shall see though...;)

Anyway, for this card I used our Jolies Fleurs, Sketched Sentiments, and Shapes & Stitches sets. I love our Shapes & Stitches set. I am not a sewer. I adore sewing on cards. I really want to sew on cards, but... A) I don't have a sewing machine and B) even if I did, it would probably turn disasterous. Just to give you a glimpse of my sewing history....back in 7th grade I had to take a class called Teen Living. In this class we learned (well sort of) how to cook for one semester and how to sew for the second semester. In Sewing, were given the task of sewing a hot pad. This was *supposed* to be an easy task. We even had a piece of paper with the straight lines printed on it for us to follow. Once we sewed over it, we could just pull off the paper. So, I happily pinned my pattern to my fabric. And then that's when it all went downhill. Yeah, my hot pad was not so hot. My cute mom still has it...aren't moms great?! Anyway, I couldn't sew straight to save my life, was always breaking the needle, and could never thread everything right.

So, my experience with the sewing machine ended in that room in 7th grade. Which brings me to our Shapes and Stitches set. It's perfect for me! I love the faux stitches that can give the same affect as a sewing machine...without drudging up those painful memories of Teen Living. :) It's a perfect set for those of us who don't sew...or for those who might not have the time to sew on their card.

Does anyone else have any disasterous sewing or cooking experiences to share? I'd love to hear them! Be sure to check back tomorrow, as I have a fun project to share. :) Thanks for stopping by!

I took Teen Living too, ha ha! My disaster was in the kitchen/cooking portion of the class.

My sewing machine disaster was in a Teen Living class too in 7th grade. I can't sew properly either, not even with a craft one. Probably why it's got so much dust on it. :)

Oh Love it!
I wish I had the ambition to sew on a card.

Your card came out beautiful! Your colors are lovely together. Since you are an artist I'm sure that having your colors work for you is an easy thing to do. :)
