Celebration time!

In honor of my birthday this weekend, I'm going to give away a Lizzie Anne Designs Funky Floral stamp set! This set was the very first set Tricia designed, and first set we ran. After the first run, we ended up changing the sizes and tweaking the images a little. We didn't want to sell them since they'd been changed. So, I have a couple of these originals sitting in my office waiting to be inked up! It's fun to see how far we've come in such a short time. The other day I was looking back at my original sketches, and it was interesting to see how our designs have evolved. One major thing that has changed is how our stamps are trimmed out now. In the beginning, they were trimmed out by hand. Now, all of our stamps are trimmed out with a scroll saw giving an almost die-cut look.

So if you want a chance at this fabulous "original set" then all you have to do is leave a comment. In honor of the last Harry Potter book coming out tomorrow, I would love for you to tell me what your favorite book or movie has been, if you think Snape is good or bad, or if you think Dumbledore is really dead or not. If you aren't a Harry Potter fan, tell me what your favorite movie of all time is. I will announce the winner tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday !! I saw a few postings just now that it was your birthday so I hopped over to your blog! :)

Unfortunately I stopped reading Harry Potter - maybe into the 3rd one. I'm excited for everyone though. I think my BF ordered this last one so maybe I'll get back into it!

I love so many movies - I will watch any romantic comedy, esp if it's a foreign movie. I haven't thought about what my favorite movie is in a long time, but during my college years, I LOVED "Red" by Krzysztof Kieslowski. He made a triology, the 3rd being Red. Look it up on IMDB. :)

isn't this ridiculous that my favorite movie is 'nacho libre'...i mean come on, i'm a grown woman with children, and that's what my brain loves...seriously though...it's hilarious...jack black is my fave!

A happy birthday to you! DD and I are going to a Harry Potter crop at our lss tonight then on the local book store to pick up our pre-purchased copy of HP- yes, we are fans. So far I've enjoyed each book more than the last and that is saying alot 'cause I've enjoyed them all. I think we are going to see a really important twist with Snape (not sure if he is good or bad but I feel there will be a new significance with him.) The Dumbledore questions- I'm hoping either he is still alive OR Harry's father is somehow still alive. Wouldn't it be a hoot if he is one of the Dursley's in disguise. It's fun being a "grown-up" and getting to use your imagination. Well, better go start scrunching DD hair so it will look like Hermione's. Thanks for the neat questions!

I haven't actually ever watched all the Harry Potter movies, and I haven't read any of the books. I would have to go with the first movie since that is the one that I have seen most of. My son is ready to read the books though, so I guess I'll be reading them too. Great stamp set too!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!! I hope your having a wonderful day.

My favorite movie is by far Sweet Home Alabama, and then Coyote Ugly comes in a close 2nd.

My kids will be excited when the mail arrives tomorrow, because Amazon is delivering Harry tomorrow for them, and they don't know I did it. So I'm sure it will be a party here.

Happy Birthday!!!
I loved reading your write-up and your growth as an artist...it is amazing how one evolves over time.
Honestly, my favourite book is still #1. I just love the setting...and of course Rowling's ability to suck me into the store line. Both my husband and I have read all the books and watched all the movies to date...and you can bet your lucky penny we will be buying the new book too. As for Snape it's a love hate relationship. Dumbledore...hard to say.
Thanks for this fantastic opportunity to win some rubbah.

Happy Birthday to you! :c)

Ok, so I'm a big Harry Potter fan... ack, so excited it's coming out tonight!!

My favorite book was Half Blood Prince. It really shows the growth of all of ther characters. I'll be really interested to see how they handle the filming of some of the scenes. As for Snape - I love him and I hate him. I think that in the end, he will be good. And Dumbledore, well as much as I don't want to believe it, but he has to be dead. His death is what pushes Harry further into knowing he must end Voldemort.

Oh wow... probably more than you ever wanted to know about my opinion on Harry Potter. Thanks for the chance for some beautiful stamps!!

Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a wonderful day!

I haven't completely jumped on the Harry Potter bangwagon, so I'm not up on all the books. I think the movies are great though!

My favorite movie of all-time is Grease!

Happy Birthday to You!! I stopped reading Harry Potter partway into the 4th book. I love reading any book written by Jodi Picoult! Once I start one of her books, I can't stop till I've reached the end. As far as a favorite movie, I just watched Alot Like Love and even tho its kind of corny, I loved it!

Lesa said...

I have read some of the first Harry Potter books, but it was so long ago I can't remember much.
Happy Birthday! I have a July birthday too! My favorite movie is just about any chick flick! ;)

I loved the 4th book, but I truly believe the best way to "read" them is to listen to them on CD. Jim Dale, who reads them, is fantastic! Give it a try.

Happy b-day! These stamps are super cute.

My favorite book/movie is Gone With The Wind. I've read the book at least 10 times and seen the movie over 20 times. Gotta love Scarlet.

Happy Birthday. I love HP. I think Snape is bad and that Harry is going to meet his demise. I hope I'm wrong! My favorite movie is A&E's Pride and Prejudice and my favorite book is Little Women but I do love my Harry Potters!

Connie said...

Happy birthday!

Sorry, I'm not a Harry Potter fan (never read the books or saw any of the movies), but my favorite movie of all time has to be Gone With The Wind...I love seeing it on the BIG screen! I remember my grandma taking me to see it every year when I was little.

Happy Birthday!! One of my favorite movies is Against All Odds with Jeff Bridges and Rachel Ward. And my favorite book is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. You've gotta read it. It's 1000 pages and I still didn't want it to end.

Happy b-day! I would love to be a Harry Potter devotee but I barely have time to read a paragraph nowadays with my crazy kids! I did enjoy a book by Alison Pearson on a previous vacation titled "I Don't Know How She Does It".

Happy Birthday!
I started reading Harry Potter years ago, but only seemed to make it through the first 2 or 3. I used to read it aloud to my son before bed time. I just love that it's getting kids (and adults) to read! I haven't seen the HP movies - but I don't remember the last time I sat down and actually watched a film from start to finish. It was probably 'Farenheit 911'. I love 'To Sir With Love' and 'West Side Story'. As for books, I loved Lucky Man by Michael J. Fox and the John Grisham novels.
Thanks for a chance at a great set!!

Wishing you oodles of birthday blessings!

My favorite movie was always Tootsie, but I think The Notebook is right at the top also. Little Miss Sunshine is my favorite of the more current movies.

I think Snape will turn out to be one of the most evil characters in the entire HP series. I must confess I am not a big fan though, so am not really on top of what's going on.

I have always been a bookworm but due to an illness am unable to read. I now listen to audiobooks & am currently listening to A Walk to Remember.

Hope you have a wonderful Birthday.

The last version that came out. I love the romance and the costuming. I thought it was really a great movie, although sad.

Howdy! My favorite of the Harry Potter movies was this last one (just saw it, yay! we never go to movies!). I do think Dumbledore is dead, but I'm still not convinced that Snape is bad. It seems to easy. Thanks!! :)

I just finished rereading the sixth Harry Potter book yesterday, so I'll be able to pick right up tomorrow.

I think the first book was my favorite just because the whole Harry Potter world was so fresh and new but I liked the third movie the best ... the cinematography was just stunning!

And now I've forgotten what else I was supposed to say. Ah well...

Happy Birthday! And congrats on so much success with Lizzie Anne Designs!

Harry is a fun read but the movies went downhill for me after the third one-I wasnt as thrilled with them anymore. Maybe its because they are trying to cram too much into one movie. My favorite movie of all time is FInian's Rainbow. I never tire of it. Even as a teenager in the 70's I thought Fred Astaire was a god!

We are big Harry Potter fans...We had a party last night creating wands and playing games...at 10PM we headed to our local bookstore to partake in the festivities there...then at 1AM we headed home with books in our grubby little paws...bemoaning that HP was going to be over...OK. Favorite book? The 4th or the 6th. I think they were both ominous and I loved that about them. Snape? Good all the way! He is fantastic! Dumbledore is dead. I think that because of the portrait. Finally, I do believe that JKRowling will come back with a follow-up maybe five or six years from now. So, the HP saga may be over, but the phenomenon is not! GO HARRY!

So, I will just mention a "newer" one (to me, anyway....guess I am showing my age, here!) that I love: Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda in "On Golden Pond".
Again, I hope you have a very special birthday, and thanks for the chance to win an awesome prize!

Other than Potter, my favorite book is the Scarlett Letter and my favorite movie is Out of Africa - oh to have Robert Redford wash my hair...

Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a great one this past weekend!

I've read the first 4 books and started book 5. I enjoyed Goblets of Fire the most so far. Did pick up book 7 - DH is reading it now. We are also in the process of catching up on the movies - saw the 1-3, need to rent and watch 4 before we go see 5. I prefer the books to the movies - but that's usually the case!
